wedgepiece

Being stuck in the armpit of florida, trying to do the right thing (annoy all those around them) and not giving a hairy rat's ass about what anybody else thinks, wedgepiece creates music solely for their own purposes...which are selfish, to be sure, but never at the expense of honesty. Mark is the younger, so his points-of-reference include more emo than Scot, who being the elder, harkens back to the old school of american punk and hardcore. They found an odd intersect in the lo-fi and indie sounds of the mid-nineties and, though not in any way trying to copy them, arrived at a resting place of the classic DIY mindset and a modernist to-hell-with-technology sincerity. Their songs are immediate, memorable; a kind of simple reminder that life is not to be sung about by machines or millionaires.
